What's the general idea with this LSN competition?
The LSN Ryder Cup are for LSN Players who want to face the ultimate challenge; play for your country against a random player with random factions on a random map.
Now that is a challenge.
Teams for 2005 are split into 2: USA /Rest of World Vs UK/Europe
There are 12 players this season per team (can be expanded if required). Maps to be decided. It will be random race v race according to the match schedule. There will be just one match, with either a win, lose or draw.
The matches are to be played starting April.
How will the match results be displayed?
Within the forum results board
How many cups per year?
Likely to be 4 - 1 for each season.
How do I know what team I am in?
The dividing of LSN players go into two categories: UK/European, and USA/ROW (rest of world).
You will then be grouped into either USA/ROW, or UK/Europe.
If you are from Austria, Belgium, Cyprus, Czech Republic, Denmark, Estonia, Finland, France, Germany, Greece, Hungary, Ireland, Italy, Latvia, Lithuania, Luxembourg, Malta, Poland, Portugal, Slovakia, Slovenia, Spain, Sweden, The Netherlands, United Kingdom, all European members states, then you be on the UK/European team.
Else you will be on the USA/ROW (rest of the world) team.
Note: Bulgaria, Croatia, Romania, Turkey, Albania, Andorra, Belarus, Bosnia-Herzegovina, Republic of Macedonia, Iceland, Liechtenstein, Moldova, Monaco, Norway, Russia, San Marino, Serbia and Montenegro, Switzerland, Ukraine, Vatican City are not full European Member states and are under the USA/ROW team.
Don't take it personally, it's a effective way to even out the teams.
More details can be found at the European members web site at http://europa.eu.int/abc/governments/index_en.htm
What happens after registration?
Once the registration date as passed, I'll do a count of the teams.
More than like there will be one team having less members than the other, so a few players might have to play twice.
All fixtures shall be random, match type wipeout.
What faction you will play (marines, spawn etc) will also be random; this will add an extra challenge.
There will be a list of 3 maps (chosen randomly), maps choice per match will be between those 3
Matches will kick off in April, and finished mid May.
The matches are 30 days/30 turns.
USA/Rest of World team are to deploy against UK/Europe.
This will be a short, but fun comp leading up to Summer. May the best team win.
Is there a homepage?
No. All news, fixtures and results will be posted here on this forum.
If a team member does not deploy, can we have a subs?
Yes. You have to agree it with the opponent and also the team captain. Deployment would then have to take place between day 8-10. After Day 10, it would be a default win.
If the sub is already a team member, he can only be a sub once.
